Continuing education is a key benefit of membership in the Institute of Management Accountants.
The Dallas Area Chapter of IMA provides technical meetings that are an excellent opportunity to acquire continuing education credits (each technical meeting is the equivalent of one CPE hour). There are also numerous events, educational sessions, and self-study options throughout the year to help you meet your educational objectives. For more details on how to become a member of our chapter or on obtaining certification as a CMA, you may also want to view the National IMA Website.
If you have earned the Certified Management Accountant (CMA designation) or the Certified Financial Manager (CFM designation), you are required to have a minimum of thirty hours of continuing education annually. A minimum of 2 hours of the 30 must be appropriate Ethics training.
If you are pursuing the CMA designation, the Dallas Area Chapter has partnered with Gleim to provide a Professor-Led CMA Review Course. For more details on the course, please go to our CMA Review Course Website.
Gleim also provides an extensive self-study course for the CMA exam. As a member of the Dallas Area Chapter, you are eligible for significant discounts (from 20-32%) on any of Gleim's CMA materials, as well as Gleim's online CPE. To take advantage of the reduced prices please contact our chapter representative - Chad Murray, 800-874-5346 Ext. 222 or e.mail chad.murray@gleim.com.
Note: The Dallas Area Chapter of IMA is registered with the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy (TSBPA) to offer CPE to CPAs.
